Who should get this vaccine?

- Adults 65+ and immunocompromised individuals (may need additional doses)

Common side effects
- Pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site
- Fatigue and headache
- Muscle or joint pain
- Chills or low-grade fever
- Nausea
Side effects are generally milder with updated doses than with the original primary series. Most resolve within 1 to 3 days.
Rare side effects
- Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
- Myocarditis or pericarditis: very rare, primarily in younger males
Who should NOT get this vaccine
- Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to a previous COVID-19 vaccine dose or any component
- Known allergy to polyethylene glycol (PEG) or polysorbate
- People who are currently moderately or severely ill should wait until recovery
