The MMR vaccine helps protect against three highly contagious viral diseases: measles, mumps, and rubella. Two doses provide strong protection, including about 97% protection against measles and about 88% protection against mumps.
Fever or a mild rash can appear 1 to 2 weeks after vaccination. This is part of the immune response and does not mean you have measles.
Always inform your pharmacist of any allergies, medical conditions, or medications before receiving the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine.
The routine schedule is 2 doses, with the first given at 12 to 15 months and the second at 4 to 6 years. Unvaccinated adults may need 1 or 2 doses depending on age, risk, and evidence of immunity. Availability may vary by location.
Vaccine consent forms and Vaccine Information Statements (VIS) are provided before vaccination. Availability may vary by location.
Coverage varies by vaccine and insurance plan. Our team can help verify your benefits during the scheduling process or at the time of your visit, including Medicare, Medicaid, and many commercial plans when applicable. For patients paying out of pocket, ask about current self-pay pricing.
